This screw conveyor video shows how material being conveyed in incline conveyors can fall back over the top of the flighting. This is a major reason for the inefficiency of inclined screw conveyors. Using a shroud will encapsulate the screw and prevent this fall back, drastically increasing the conveying efficiency.
